Will my teeth become sensitive after whitening?
All people respond differently. Since our formula is different than most other whitening agents, there is little if any sensitivity following our treatment. There may be a slight sensation that occurs from our enhancing product which is due to evaporation of alcohol. This may produce a cooling sensation on the surface of the tooth.
Porcelain or acrylic caps or crowns will not lighten or change colour beyond the original colour when whitening your teeth.
How long does tooth whitening last?
The results you achieve from the GTW tooth whitening prelonged with GTW enhancer is used daily for 14 days (this is essential homecare and is additional to your treatment) If not used, depending on your eating, drinking, and smoking habits, discoloration could occur within 6-12 months. Top up sessions are recommended after 3 months to assist with prelonging results.
Is whitening safe for your teeth?
Studies indicate GentleTouchTM and the GTW enhancer are safe for your teeth. There are no indications of changes to the morphology of the teeth or damage to the enamel.
How much of my smile will be whitened?
In general the first 4-6 teeth on both sides of centre will experience some whitening.
How does this process compare to ones in a dentists office?
There are two basic procedures being used today. The custom trays and the light enhanced whitening systems. The trays cost 3-£500, involve several weeks of home usage, and utilize high concentrations of Hydrogen Peroxide that may cause tooth sensitivity for an extended period of time. The ADA does not approve of this method. The light enhanced methods are effective but also involve high concentrations of Hydrogen Peroxide that can burn the gums. A protective dam is applied to your gums to keep you from being burned and this is tedious work and takes up to 2 hours to complete. This procedure can cost up to £1,000.
How white do my teeth become when using the GentleTouch TM System?
All teeth whiten differently, but our studies confirm that the GentleTouchTM/GTW System will produce visibly whiter teeth and up to a 12 shade change on the darkest teeth.
How long does it take to whiten your teeth?
With the GentleTouchTM Whitening System we have reduced the total whitening time to 45 minutes. Enhancement of the system requires less than one minute of your time twice daily after brushing for up to two (2) weeks, then weekly thereafter.
Can I do this treatment every month?
We recommend you do not. You will receive the greatest whitening results from the initial treatment and repeating the treatment monthly would not achieve great incremental results.
